last week, while i was at work, my friend, april, posted online about a movie under the moon event at overman park that was going to take place later that night. i have always had an interest in going to drive in theatres, so i thought it would be a really neat experience. not only that, i tend to be such a homebody and i knew it'd be good for me to get out of the house and do something i'd truly enjoy. so, i asked miss april if i could tag along with her and being the sweetheart she is, she said yes.
beforehand, they had food vendors set up and a band that played for a couple of hours before the movie started. when i arrived, april found me amongst the crowd with her camera in tow. which, if i may say, is one of my favorite things about her. only one, though. there are many, many.
we walked over to where her and her mama, deborah, had chairs set up and we chatted and laughed until the movie began. they played toy story and i don't think i can even remember the last time i had watched it before that night. it had been a few years at least.
truly, i'm so glad i went. it was simple + so much fun + really just plain good for my heart- especially with the company i was surrounded by. these women are two of the most kind hearted people i have ever known and i am so grateful to have met them.
