this photo series is completely unrelated to the topic, but hey. a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. also, phil's house is breath taking, right? ahh. inside, it looks like a princess' tea party exploded, leaving remnants of floral and pink everywhere. i'm enamoured.
1. for the past couple of weeks, i have been going through a slow transition to color my hair so it's closer to my natural color--blonde. it's really getting there now, and i also currently have bangs. it's a thing and i love them... even though they make me look like i'm ten again, or a really bad ass punk rocker chick from the nineties. i guess it depends on if i decide to wear floral or black that day.
2. this weekend i am heading to decorah for nordic fest and a little tlc from darrell and jules. goodness knows it's been too long. i was told to pack my hiking gear and i am so ready to get my hike and family time on.
3. my brothers, my step-mom--lisa, and myself are leaving for colorado next wednesday and i am biting at the bit to go and smell the fresh air in the mountains. so far we're planning to go on a four hour trail through the mountains on horse back, zip-lining, and white water rafting. this adventure shall be a good one, my friends. (unless i fall off a cliff, of course.)
4. chase wrote a new song earlier this week, well at least most of it is done, and i am so beyond proud of him. the first thing he did after he finished recording it was call me at work and tell me that as soon as i was off, i had to come and listen to it with him. he's like a mix between ed sheeran and bon iver--an acoustic god with the boy band look. but he's my chase and i love his guts. he's going to make it big someday--i just feel it.
5. i have such an itch to travel--to just pick up and go. right now my heart is pointing me to portland and then seattle. between the food vendors around every corner with every kind of dish you could dream of, the to-die-for coffee shops, and artsy fartsy-never put down my camera-ever feel of portland...and the wonderfully rainy, hipster + coffee filled, music lovin', snow fearin' city that is seattle...i may fall madly in love. let's also not forget about the pike place market in seattle, ya'll.
6. i have like twenty or so unposted, not to mention unfinished posts in my drafts folder currently. hello, my name is kaitlyn. i am a procrastinator. it's truly not that i am trying to neglect my bee-log... i've just been completely overwhelmed with that which is my life as of late. i hope you understand.
7. more and more lately, i have this unwavering want to start my own shop on etsy. i'm not even sure of what i'd create. paintings? photography? a clothing line? it's all so open! i can do anything!
8. my sister, amber just found out a couple weeks ago that she is having a baby boy! how amazing is that? what a blessing.
9. i have been daydreaming about apartments with wooden floors, crisp white walls, an abundance of natural light, and a claw footed tub. someday.
10. i'm learning a little more every day that being lonely doesn't mean you're alone.
