here's an impromptu shoot with my brothers from a couple of weeks ago. chase is immune to me snapping away while he plays, but dylan informed me that i am not allowed to take his photo anymore. a statement he soon forgot about as soon as he could get his picture taken with sammie the kitten. that sammie is a trickster. let me tell ya. first we thought he was a he, then a she, and as it turns out he is in fact a he.
chase has this uncanny ability of being able to pick up and play any instrument he chooses to. he's a natural with a soft raspy voice to pair to playing. i don't know how he does it. we took guitar lessons together many years ago and while chase didn't really need them because he already knew how to play, he tagged along for me so i didn't have to go alone. well, as it turns out... i didn't learn a darn thing. not really. i mostly sat and talked with my instructor about chi and his awesome samurai sword each time i came in. so, needless to say, i never quite learned how to play. anyway, you give this kid an instrument and he's home. it's amazing and slightly frustrating, but i am always proud of this not-so-baby bro of mine.
these moments are truly some of my most cherished. i soak 'em right up and forever breathe the goodness and the music in, in deep unwavering breaths.
