gentle, hard working hands.
i really soaked it all up today, let me tell ya. admittedly, i didn't get out of bed until well after eleven, but it was nice. really nice. my days are so filled with love lately, i may explode and i'm not sure i'd even mind. we lounged around sporting our best bed heads, full tummies and hearts and it was so good. plus, i make some of the best coffee around and gramma and i drank it right up while we watched a couple of eighties movies and laughed until it hurt. for lunch, there was steak, salad, and fried potatoes and we near licked our plates. (i'm exaggerating... kind of.) but really, they are fantastic cooks and i am so very spoiled. with bellies resting, we talked about the good stuff and i warmed my toes underneath my grandma as she was busy working on her afghan for my great aunt, sue. grandpa is kind of a sucker for ice cream and as soon as lunch was gone, he was already ready for dessert, but we waited until our food had settled a bit. then, he made some delicious raspberry shakes. the raspberries were frozen and had come from our garden earlier this summer. (we have quite the pair with green thumbs up in this joint) let me say, it more than hit the spot. i took a little walk outside by myself and breathed in the fresh winter air and i honestly can't remember the last time i had really paid attention to how wonderful the crisp air smells. anyway, i apologize for all of the rambling. i just truly hope all of your days were just as swell as ours was and that your hearts were left filled to the brim and spilling over. life is good. i can't seem to wipe the smile from my face and for that, i am beyond grateful.
